Kommentarer efter matchen mot Wigan

Händer det, så händer det på EmiratesStadium. hade nästan förväntat mig att Rosicky skulle göra en Anja-säl på gräset, men då hade han nog blivit utvisad av Phil Dowd, som visade hur en Premier League-match inte skulle dömas. Sällan har jag sett tränarna uppe och diskutera med fjärdedomaren så mycket. Wigans egen juvel vill lyncha honom och skicka en bötescheck på 15 miljoner pund till honom om Wigan ramlar ut och Wenger menar att det där med videobevakning kanske inte är så dumt. Sedan släpper han ur sig en harang som menar att han undrar om Dowd har något inskrivet i avtalet som säger att han inte får döma straff mot Gunners?"We should have had a penalty - he turned down three stonewall penalties for us against Arsenal last year. He must have something in his contract saying he can't give penalties against Arsenal."
Han avslutar domarhetsen med att mena att Phil Dowd troligtvis är sämst i ligan.

Får inte Jewell böter efter detta, då skall ingen framöver bötesfällas.
Men Jewell gnäller inte bara på domaren. han hyllar sina spelare också."I thought our players were magnificent. Whatever we got today was a bonus and what we can take out of it is a wonderful performance that was denied a victory by bad decisions."
Så tar vi lite Arsenal och vår mäktige tränare är stor i segerns stund. Men han menar inledningsvis att de hade lite tur då Heskeys boll gick i stolpen, men att Lehmann fick fingarna på den. Det är alltid svårt att komma in i rhytmen efter landskamper dock.
Fast andra halvleken såg bättre ut menar han vidare;"The second half we needed more urgency, more drive going forward and that was all in the side. You could feel in the second half we can come back, and as well of course if they had maybe a chance to score a second goal when they wanted a penalty. Was it a penalty or not I don't know, but it was a situation where you can expect anything. There was maybe as well one on the other side."
Att hela tiden vända ett underläge är inte klubbens melodi menar han dock. Man noterar att han hade sex anfallare på banan mot slutet och längst bak spelade Gunners med två mittfältare, så det var ingen slumnp att det blerv så offensivt menar Wenger.
Sedan kommer kommentaren om Lehmann. "What I don't understand is that Jens Lehmann gets straight away a yellow card on the first time he runs across the goal, but Kirkland did that the whole game. Frankly he was out of it anyway, but I would have preferred him not to be booked because you never know what can happen, you might have injuries and you might need him, you know? If Almunia gets injured, or Poom gets injured, we need him as a keeper, but ideally if all the keepers are available he would not have got booked." En passning till Nicklas Holmgren, som gick upp i falsett när Lehmann fick en varning. "Det här är dramatiskt. Om Rosickys mål och offside, menar Wenger att det är möjligt, men återkomemr till Champions league, där Gunners fick tveksamma mål mot sig. Det jämnar ut sig..."Maybe he was a few inches, yes or no, but we conceded a goal in the Champions League final that was offside and nobody complained about it. If you want these decision completely clear you cannot accuse the referee of doing right or wrong, you need to battle for video assistance. For as long as you don't have video assistance you can't ask that question after every game. Of course maybe it's a little but annoying because this decision has gone for us today, but plenty of these decisions have gone against us, don't worry."
Tomas Rosicky var nöjd med att avgöra matchen, men tycker det är jobbigt att hela tiden arbeta från underläge;"We need to try to improve that, because it's always difficult to try to come back in every game.We got the three points today but we know we could have done much better. It's probably the closest to losing the unbeaten record here but Wigan played quite well and have some good players. They are not easy games in this league. It's always great when you can turn a game around but we need to start better from the beginning."
Lite övrigt som matchen som är värt att notera;
David Pleat, f.d Spursmanager, menar att det var Gunners förmåga att använda sig av det s.k "dödliga passet" mellan försvararna till sprintande ytterbackar eller mittfältare som begravde matchen. Adebayors boll till 2-1 var ett skolexempel menar han.
