Dagens Arsenal - 4 Mars 2009
Här kommer dagens portion, hugg in!
Wenger
Vår Franske filosof gratulerar Arsenals Danske dynamit som drog in 2 stycken baljor i gårdagens match. He's grown up, he wants to do well and I believe he can be a promising striker. It's always difficult to give a rest to (Robin) Van Persie but he (Bendtner) was on the edge tonight and I felt he was playing with fire. Sometimes I play them together, many times, but Nicklas is slowly growing in the game and he had a good game tonight." Och om matchen i allmänhet tyckte Wenger följande: "We kept going and there's a very healthy, strong spirit in this team. We've come along and won the game without any doubt about the spirit and attitude of the players. It was a test again. Their goal gave a lot of courage to West Brom and it was down to us to find an opening again and we did that.”
Spelarna
We dropped too many points and we wanted to look forward which was hard but we never gave up. We kept working hard in training and tonight we scored three goals. We have not been waiting for this kind of night, we just want to take points and that is it. We have to take everything positive out of the game, think about it but then it is gone. We have to stay focused and we have to work." "We talk to each other but we never talked about scoring goals," he said. "I think everyone was just looking forward and tonight we did the job. We played as a team and we scored goals and we see that when we score goals, we can win games. It was tough today because West Brom are quite a good team but we gave everything.”
I watched the matches that were broadcast in Russia whenever possible. But to tell the truth it seemed less difficult on TV. Only now do I understand how dynamic and hard the football is here. Now I would like to score as soon as possible. Everybody expected me to score in my very first match but that never happens, especially with me. But nothing was easy and immediate for me. Arsenal is no exception. So I need patience and hard work now. The main task now is to get into the Champions League for next season." Slutligen talar också Arshavin om hur det går för honom med lektioner i Engelska: "I began my English studies about two years ago. I had no solid plans of moving to London. But I already thought about England and moreover English is an international language and can be handy everywhere. All experienced people said that the better you know the language the easier it will be. And even if I had not left Russia, knowledge of a foreign language cannot be a waste."
To be in fourth we have to give everything, to win every single game now until the end of the season. We know it is not going to be easy, we know it is going to be tough, but we just have to be ready in the head and face it. I just want to tell them (the fans) I know it is difficult for everyone at the moment. It is difficult for the boss, difficult for us as players, for them as fans - so they just have to keep doing what they love the most which is keep pushing us on."
Ahh, rykten…. Pure bollocks
