Wengers ord om senaste matchen
Så här skrev Arsene Wenger i sitt e-mail efter matchen mot Liverpool.
"Hello Arsenal supporters,
We are feeling frustrated today, not because of the way we played against Liverpool, but because we went ahead and only got a draw.
We gave everything and played very well defensively against a Liverpool team who tried to frustrate us.
Of course we are very disappointed. We had done the difficult part, to go 1-0 up, but we conceded a goal because we were naive.
Overall, at the back we played very well but you do not expect to be caught on the break when you are 1-0 up with 20 minutes to go.
The two goalkeepers were not tested much during the match, yet if you look at our chances we should still have won the game. We had a great chance with Freddie in the first half and then at 1-1, we had a chance with Dennis Bergkamp. We should also have scored from a free-kick which we took well.
But the attitude is right, the desire is there and the belief is there. Considering we had some players playing out of position we did well.
Although Manchester United are back on top of the league, they have not won it, there´s a long way to go. They will drop points as well.
We know it´s in our hands, even now. If we win our game in hand we are top of the league. We don´t need to look at other teams. I´m convinced we can do it.
The moment of truth comes for every team. Recently we have played Manchester United, Liverpool away, Chelsea, Newcastle and then Liverpool again yesterday. We had a lot of difficult games but we are still in a good position.
Lee Dixon came back on Sunday and I´m very happy for him. He is such a strong character and I´m sure he´ll play a few more games yet this season. Maybe he will play on Sunday, we are not sure yet.
Now I just expect my players to keep going. Their motivation and effort is remarkable so I must praise them for that. They keep giving everything.
Our next test comes on Sunday when we travel to Elland Road to face Leeds. Let´s hope we can continue our good away form of this season.
