Tony Morley och Gordon Cowans Drömelva
Vad har två Villa-Legender att säga om sina elvor. Goce - The Villan har tagit reda på det.....personligen! Givetvis skulle båda vara med, så det blev en tolva!
Drömlaget.
1. Nigel Spink had no weakness in our opinion. He was super at coming for crosses, his shotstopping was phenomenal, his distribution was quality and for a big guy he was remarkably agile.
2.Gary Williams was a right footed left back who bombed forward at every opportunity. He was comfortable on the ball too.
3. Kenny Swain joined as a center forward from Chelsea but Ron Saunders converted him into a right back. He was not prepared to just sit back; he liked to get forward but could defend superbly too.
4. Ken McNaught was a rock solid, simple as that. He was dominant in the air and confident on the ball.
5. Allan Evans was a solid, nonsense defender but he had good distribution skills, just like Ken. He had everything you would want in a central defender.
6. Dennis Mortimer led by example and loved getting forward. His fitness was so good that he could go on a run and thaen get back and defend when needed. As a captain he was a good talker and organiser.
7. Des Bremner slots on the right, and rightly so. He was a phenomally hard worker. His allround game was excellent and he was very underrated as a fotballer because super on the ball.
8. Alex Croppley, his passing and vision was amazing and he really excited us when we watched him play. He was also ruthless in the tackle.
9. Peter Withe was a great target man who always showed for people when needeed and held the ball up magnificently. He was always available and obviously superb in the air.
10. Gary Shaw was tremendously gifted and had an intelligent fotball brain. His awareness of what was happening was great and his finishing was second to none.
11. Tony Morley was gifted and a real flair player. He was two footed and could scare defenders when he ran at them. His goal of the season against Everton demonstrated his quality perfectly.
11. Gordon Cowans was a good hard working central midfielder, one of the best in the league.
