"Played at Balham. Result, win for Barnet 2 goals to 1. Barnet turning up only 8, Clapham lent two men, and thus equalised. The ground was sodden, and the play was rather slow. After an even ten minutes' play, the ball was passed from Barnet's centre to first home, who put it through Clapham's goal.
The attack man happened to be a Clapham man, but the merit of the goal was equally divided. Another Barnet man now turned up, and Clapham, taking back on man, had the advantage of a loose man. After several attempts upon both goals, Barnet scored again before halftime.
On resuming, the play went on evenly without any advantage being gained, until within five minutes of five Claphams shots their only goal.
Barnet's team was: B. Higgs, Gibson, H. Newth, Porter, E. Newth, Maxfield, Cartwright, and H. and P. Hodson."
