“The wingers produced incredible football, and the strikers played with great dynamic. I always thought we could score goals, not the kind of game where you feel it's difficult to create or score. We create and we score. Of course we concede two goals and I don't like to concede two goals, but that's part of the game and also the consequence of Birmingham because they played a really good game, but we have three points, the quality of our game and the quality of our goals.”
Om rekordet:
"I think it's a good way to celebrate our home record in a day where I have to go home and sit and remember every player that helped us to achieve this record because some of them are not here with us and I want to remember all of them, Gudjohnsen, Geremi, Duff, all these guys that had a good participation in this fantastic record. I think the record means for Chelsea more than for me. Everybody knows that the previous record belonged to Liverpool, to top players, Dalglish, Hansen, Phil Neal and all these great Liverpool players and in this moment belongs to Chelsea, to Lampard, to Terry, to Gudjohnsen, to all of these guys. In this moment Chelsea has written its names in the history books, it's a great record.”
Om Shaun Wright-Phillips:
“I think he's playing very well, last season he had an improvement. This pre-season he started very, very well, strong since day one, and the players they know that I try always to be honest and to choose the players that deserve more. Shaun had a very good pre-season and today played a very good game. I think I am speaking too much about an individual player, we won, Chelsea won, but I’m pleased for Shaun. He deserves it, the boy always believed in himself, the dressing room loves him because he was always a team player, he was always the same boy, the same person. I am very happy he had this very good performance.”
Om Arjen Robben:
"Robben is still injured. He still has a little problem from the previous surgery, but when he is back and training with the group he is a Chelsea player. I'm always honest. I always pick the players that are in the best form. When Arjen arrives into that level he is a great player and a great choice for me."
Om John Terrys skada:
I don't think Terry will have a chance against Reading. I think he has a little chance against Liverpool. If not against Liverpool then against Portsmouth the week after. He is working well and the medical department are trying everything and I think he can be back soon."
Om Michael Essiens skada:
“It’s something in the knee ligament, he was limping, he was in pain. I had two midfielders on the bench, Mikel and Sidwell so I made the change immediately. If you ask me is he ready for Wednesday I don't know.”
