Having just received my back issues of the cfcuk fanzine, I have just read about the Chelsea Serbia boys (issue 87) who weren’t allowed to have their flag on display during the Champions League game against Fenerbache because it was offensive to the Turkish fans and community. I was shocked by what I read and my response is that it was pathetic!
You might be interested to know that most of our lot from Sweden got a lot of grief from Stewards and Police at the match v Wigan where we had over 50 people singing our hearts off for the team taking part in the Shed 100 Campaign at the Bridge.
We were constantly told to sit down when we stood up and sang. We were there to raise the atmosphere for goodness sake, something that the club is meant to be supporting.
The Police told a few of our boys to sit down or else they would find them somewhere else to stay the night. The Fulham nick I suppose? Credit to all our lot as we all had to take two more days off work, add two more nights in the hotels and also change our flights as the match was moved to a Monday night.
And it was Wigan on a Monday night… not a glamorous match to travel over for anyway and the Club knew we were there just taking part in the singing bit. Still, all you get is grief and told to sit down. Not any of the JCL`s around us did f*ck all to support the team vocally during the match.
Bring back the old days. Keep up the good work you have started, Kendik and company. Anyway, we will be back supporting the team we love next season. No grumpy stewards or stupid police can change that. Have a nice summer.
