Petr Cech - 7: Produced superb saves from Claudio Pizarro and Bastian Schweinsteiger, and was unfortunate to concede three goals.

Claude Makelele - 6: Was a calming influence at times after a difficult start, but had problems keeping track of Ballack's runs.

Frank Lampard - 7: Failed to get forward as often as he would like, and also had difficulties with Ballack, but his deflected effort opened the scoring.

Eidur Gudjohnsen - 7: Asked to drop deep to help out the midfielders, he stuck to his task and worked hard, clearing an effort off the line in the second period.

Joe Cole - 6: Had limited attacking opportunities but he showed his new defensive commitment with some timely tackles in the second half.

Didier Drogba - 8: STAR MAN. Looked lively throughout, coming in for some rough treatment, and produced a magnificent header for Chelsea's second goal.

Damien Duff - 7: Looked energetic in attack and while helping out the defence, he almost scored before Bayern's equaliser and his substitution.
