Dags för fjärde Swedewolves Academy Player Award


Det har blivit en tradition att varje vår dela ut priset till en lovande spelare i Wolves Academy U-18 lag. Spelaren kommer från First year kullen och ska vara en spelare som bedöms som en ”Player to watch”. Det är vår vän Nick Loftus i Wolves Academy som tillsammans med övriga ledare i Academy utser spelaren.
 
Traditionen bjuder också numer att vår ordförande Truls Månsson delar ut priset till spelaren på Molineux i samband med en match på vår medlemsresa. I år gör han det tillsammans med Tim Jakobsson och det sker i halvlek i matchen mot Hull tisdagen den 16 april.
 
Det brukar också komma med en artikel i ett matchprogram, och Truls intervjuas i tidningar och är med i TV. (nja inte riktigt, men det är en hel del media bevakning av detta)
 
Vi har tagit fram en pokal som delas ut och ni ser den i bilden i artikeln. En nyhet i år är att spelaren får en egen mindre liknande pokal och den större pokalen är en pokal som idag står i receptionen på Molineux. Vi jobbar för att få in den på museet så småningom.
 
Ytterligare en tradition är att de som är med och stöder insamlingen till Swedewolves Academy Player Award, är med i en utlottning av en signerad matchtröja.

Alla medlemmar som är med och sponsrar är med i en utlottning av signerad matchtröja.
Utlottningen sker på medlemsresans middag på Molineux.
De medlemmar som sätter in 100 kr får en lottsedel och är med i utlottningen. Sätter man in 200 kr får man två lottsedlar.(man behöver alltså inte vara med på resan för att vinna tröjan)
 
Sätt in pengarna på Swedewolves plusgirokonto, 1858509-1. Märk det med Award och ditt namn.
Det kommer också pengar från Wolftipset till Award priset.
 
Av de insamlade pengarna delas pengarna mellan spelaren och Wolves Academy.
 
Vi kommer även att göra en intervju med spelaren senare in i nya säsongen.

FIRST YEAR GROUP

Scott Dutton, Goalkeeper
Scott from Wyken in Coventry attended Stoke Park School and played for Coventry City schoolboys and West Midlands Schools FA during his time there. Scott joined Wolves as an Under 14 year old player after having gained some Academy football experience with both Coventry City and West Bromwich Albion.

Thomas Hill, Defender
Thomas attended Idsall School Sports College in Shifnal, Nr Wolverhampton and joined Wolves Under 10 squad whilst he was attending Shifnal Primary back in October 2005. He has played County schools football for Shropshire Schools FA, and he has made good progress whilst playing for Academy sides.

Cieron Keane, Defender
Cieron is from Nottingham and has had previous Academy football experience with Derby County.
His older brothers Callum and Jordan are both professional footballers, and Cieron will be hoping to do well here at Wolves. He has played for Republic of Ireland Under 16's.

Ben O'Hanlon, Defender
Ben is another from the local area, and he joined Wolves when he was 11 years old. He is from Shropshire, he attended Thomas Telford and Lord Silkin Secondary schools in Telford and represented Shropshire Schools FA. Ben is currently hoping to add to his England caps after playing twice for England U16’s in the Victory Shield and playing for the U17’s at the Nordic Tournament at the start of this season in the Faroe Islands.

Andre Streete, Defender
Andre is from Wolverhampton and he joined Wolves Academy after doing well for Wolverhampton Schools FA and Bilbrook Juniors FC as a 14 year old. He went on to play for West Midlands County Schools also, along with spending a week with England on a national training camp when he was 15 years old.Andre attended the Kings School in Wolverhampton.

Daniel Murray, Midfielder
Dan joined us after gaining some Academy football experience with Manchester City. He is from the Manchester area and impressed Wolves scouts during a trial with us as an Under 16 player. He has a good attitude and we hope that he will continue to impress and make progress both on and off the field.

Peter Smith, Midfielder
Peter joined Wolves Under 12 squad in January 2008 whilst attending Stourport High School and has made sufficient progress since that time in order to gain an Apprenticeship at the club. He played for Wales Under 16’s in last season's Victory Shied tournament.

Dylan Stringer-Moth, Midfielder
Dylan is from Manchester and he joined Wolves at Under 16 level following spending a few years at Liverpool Academy. He has settled in well and will be hoping to make further progress here at Wolves.

Declan Weeks, Midfielder
Declan is from Wrexham and spent some time at Wrexham centre of Excellence before joining Wolves and our Under 14 squad. Declan has been a regular in the Welsh National squads at U16, U17 and he has now played for the U19 squad.

Ibrahim Keita, Forward
Ibrahim is a player recruited from Vernon in northern France. He has been with us since he was 15 years old and was registered with Wolverhampton Local Education Authority when he first arrived in the area who helped him learn English. He has learned a lot during his time with us and his language skills have helped with this progress. He has played for France Under 16’s.
