Det var en överlycklig Steve McClaren som mötte pressen efter 4-0 mot Grekland.
Steve McClarens första match som huvudansvarig kunde inte slutat på ett bättre sätt. Efter den komfortabla 4-0 segern så sade han:
"I'm absolutely delighted,"
"Particularly with the first half performance when the players did everything that we asked from them."
"We defended well too and worked very hard and controlled the game with our possession, passing and pressing.
"We played with a lot of freedom and lost any fear after the first goal went in and some of the performances were outstanding."
McClaren berättade också att han tyckte att de här träningsmatcherna bara är en träningslandskamp utan att varje match spelarna gör tillsammans är viktig:
"It was a friendly, but we approached it in a serious way. You could see the freedom throughout the team as we progressed and we said at half-time that we wanted to keep a clean sheet and also try and get another goal.
"I was most pleased with the way we controlled the game through everyone being comfortable on the ball, keeping things simple and passing the ball well. We got our periods when we could rest, counter attack and score goals.
..och tillslut så gav han lite extra beröm till dagens yttermittfältare:
"Stevie is an intelligent player on that right-hand side and Downing did well on the left too in a similar way."
