Graham Poll: "Det röda kortet var ett korrekt domslut"
Graham Poll anser att Mike Dean gjorde ett korrekt beslut när han visade ut Rafael Da Silva i matchen mellan Spurs och United på White Hart Lane.

Rafael has, rightly in my view, been charged by the FA with improper conduct for his outburst following his red card. The Brazilian has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond."
“Rafael received his first yellow for a lunging tackle on Wilson Palacios. The same two players clashed again later and the Brazilian really should have received a second caution for his reaction in brandishing an imaginary card to ensure Palacios was booked.
“In the tunnel after the 0-0 draw, Sir Alex Ferguson let Dean know he felt the dismissal was harsh and believed that Rafael's immaturity should have been taken into consideration. Really? Well, the laws of the game do not allow a referee to take a player's age into account and nor should they. "The fact Dean was wrong to produce a second yellow doesn’t change that Rafael should be punished for exploding like that afterwards, but there needs to be consistency.
Andre Marriner gave no second yellow card to Steven Gerrard for telling him to “fuck off” after sticking his fingers up at him last season. There was no mention of it in his match report either, meaning no charge was brought against Gerrard.
So, we can clearly see there’s an inconsistency between different referees over what they see as “improper conduct”. But is there also inconsistency with the same refs over how they deal with incidents from match to match?
It makes you wonder, why didn’t Dean mention John Terry trying to rip the red card out of his hand after John Obi Mikel was sent off at Old Trafford a few seasons ago? He didn’t book him for it either. This “improper conduct” wasn’t punished in any way.
Dean will set Rafael up for a two match ban but when it comes to a British Bulldog, a courageous captain, a fearless leader, the referee doesn’t believe a punishment is in order."

“Rooney's reaction was appalling: shouting in Dean's face and using foul language seen by all TV viewers. When you are in such a situation, having already sent one player off, you just try to calm things down.
Dean was eventually forced to caution Rooney on Sunday as he persistently berated the official. But until the FA take charge of referees and tell them to apply the law, such scenes will not be punished correctly and will occur again and again.
Proof that when players' foul tirades are not dealt with strongly, those players will continue to abuse officials, came in the 85th minute at White Hart Lane on Sunday. The assistant referee who correctly indicated an infringement by Vidic was abused by him.
He, too, should have been dismissed but a referee cannot act if not advised correctly by his assistant. So United continue on their unbeaten run and will only miss Rafael for one match, while Rooney and Vidic are free to berate and belittle match officials.”
