Vi existerar fortfarande!
Bortaformen är intakt, det vill säga usel, efter ännu en förlust mot Blackpool med 1-4. Hur matchen såg ut vet jag inte då varken ljud eller bild fungerade men det ska ha varit riktigt dåligt och Hutchinson, Selles med flera gick över till de nedresta supportrarna och bad om ursäkt. Selles efter matchen: "It was not good enough. After we conceded the first goal we just started to do things that we don’t do and concede three goals in the first half – this is not acceptable. We tried to change things in the second half to go after the game but then we conceded the fourth one – it was not good enough, nowhere near our best from any of us today. Besides the first part of the game, the first 10/15 minutes, we were not able to have a lot of ball, not able to control, to pass, to do the things we usually do."
Nu är vi hemma igen och här har vi tre raka segrar, den raden förlängs förhoppningsvis mot Burton. Vi har inga nya skador, Sam Smith och Camara är inte aktuella ännu men närmar sig spel i alla fall. Om vi levererar på normal nivå ska detta vara en bra chans, vi behöver ju tre poäng för vår ägare lär fixa fler minuspoäng innan han är klar. Det måste också vara svårt för spelarna då våra återkommande poängavdrag sätter press på dem att leverera tre poäng och med tanke på hur ung truppen är kan det vara mentalt dränerande. Vi får hoppas på att Selles och ledarstaben hittar olika vägar att motivera truppen på.
Jag kanske borde bry mig mer om helgens motståndare men allt fokus just nu är på Readings överlevnad som klubb och det går före resultaten I League One. Harlee Dean säger I alla fall några kloka saker inför morgondagens match: "Now I am a bit older - a bit slower! - and a bit wiser, I know, I think how to play the game. Of course sometimes knowing and doing is two different things. I like to give the two boys that are playing a bit of help, whether it is an individual session outside or little bits before the game. I want to be the same as somebody who I looked up to when I was young, I still talk to him now - Jonathan Douglas. I speak when it needs to be said, sometimes not even in the group, sometimes to an individual. I enjoy that. I want to manage when I finish football, it is just about learning and getting an education. They are all great lads, there is not one I would say isn’t, I think they are doing brilliantly. It has been a bit of a baptism of fire - riding a wave of everything going right for them, like the cup game at Millwall, and then there is always a chance to come crashing down. It is about reacting to that. That is always the biggest part: when you’ve just been slapped, let’s see what you can do then. Saturday will be the big test, to see character and resilience. In training this week the team have all worked really hard, wanting to put right their mistakes and that’s a good attitude to have."
Selles om de protester som kommer att inträffa under lördagens match: “The fans have the right to express themselves the way they want. We don’t want any more points deductions.The things with the tennis balls, I would not like to stop the game again, but I can’t tell people what to do or not what to do.It’s not for me to decide, it’s for them (the fans) to express themselves. Everybody has the right to protest. We all want the best for Reading."
