Deschamps om Ferguson och United
Deschamps är glad att få träffa Sir Alex när Marseille tar emot United på Stade Velodrome ikväll, samtidigt som han också hyllar motståndarnas fina defensiv.
Didier Deschamps står inför en tuff uppgift ikväll, men han är "glad" att få träffa Sir Alex Ferguson igen, och han har redan haft chansen att "prata med honom vid flera tillfällen".
"He is a reference to a young coach like me. There is a lot of respect, but it is especially a privilege, at this stage of the competition we are only 16 coaches, you have to enjoy it."
Deschamps valde också att berömma motståndarnas fina defensiv, som endast har släppt in ett mål i årets upplaga av Champions League.
"Manchester, when they start the competition, are in the same situation as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, AC Milan, Bayern. There are six or seven sides who start the Champions League with the objective of winning it. They don't all manage it but Manchester regularly arrive in the last four. We will have to be very efficient in defence, in view of the attacking potential with (Wayne) Rooney, (Dimitar) Berbatov, (Ryan) Giggs, Nani, Park (Ji-Sung). But also in attack because Manchester, even if they are an English side, who play with a lot of rhythm, are also a side who know how to defend".
"They were also unbeaten in the group stage. They are a very talented side but they are also a team who defends very well. I don't think there will be many goals. Knowing that we will play the first leg at home and the importance of away goals, of course we will do all that we can to score but we know that it will also be important not to concede a goal at the Vélodrome".
