Benfica - Shakhtar 0-1
Det som inte fick hända hände, Benfica förlorade på hemmaplan mot ukrainska Shakhtar vilket innebär att Benfica nu har två raka förluster i Champions League vilket gör att avancemang från gruppen känns långt borta.
Benfica började matchen ganska bra och Rodriguez hade ett tidigt skott som oroade Shakhtarmålvakten. Efter ca en kvart av matchen så tog Ukrainarna över och hade farliga kontringar gång på gång. Matchens ända mål skulle komma i den 42a minuten då Shakhtar gör ett mönsteranfall och spelar bollen snett inåt bakåt där Jadson får bollen och sätter den distinkt upp i nättaket.
Benfica kom aldrig upp i sin potential den här matchen, om det beror på Shakhtars försvarsspel eller Benfica själva vet jag inte? Hursomhelst så ser det nu onekligen mörkt ut för avancemang lär det inte bli. Känns mycket bittert att vara Benficasupporter just nu!

"The goals control football and when they happen the game changes. I think we played well enough to deserve a goal, especially in the first half but also in the last 20/30 minutes. Shakhtar scored and started playing on the counter-attack, eventually they won the game."

We are building a strong team to see where we can get to and you cannot talk about the hard work and attitude of the players. We only need a goal to start gaining confidence."

"The result is very bad for the standings. Two games, zero points, and similar to what's happening in the Liga BWIN, we will have to chase the damage we caused believing till the end. But Shakhtar were the better team and played well."
