Officiellt: Hooper klar för Celtic
Gary Hooper byter CCC mot SPL, och Celtic får därmed en utpräglad målskytt som skall hålla till i boxen.
Scunthorpeanfallaren Gary Hooper, som mäktat med 50 mål på 98 matcher, är nu helt klar för Celtic. Igår gjorde han den obligatoriska läkarundersökningen och skrev på för klubben i en affär som beräknas kosta Celtic 2.4 miljoner pund.
Lennon säger "He will be coming [to join the squad] later on. There is just a little bit of paperwork we had to smooth over. I don't know about playing but he will be in the squad. I was pleased to get him, he has been on our radar for quite a while."
Lennon tar givetvis ton på Hoopers imponerande målfacit: "I think we have a good player on our hands, his record is very good. It's not just goals, he can play a little bit as well and there were a lot of clubs after his signature."
Hooper själv säger sig vara lite nervös inför matchen, och samtidigt berömmer han klubben och dess storlek: "I'm a little bit nervous, it's the first time I've travelled abroad for a game, But I am looking forward to it and ready to meet my team-mates. Celtic is a massive club and when I knew they were interested they were the only club I wanted to come to. I signed yesterday [Monday] and had a medical last night which finished about eight o'clock. I had to sign a few papers this morning and fax them but that's it done."
