Hur går snacket på Florens barer? Är Lucchesi ute och cyklar? Vem imponerar mest på träningarna? Vår urflorentinare i Curva Ferrovia ger oss en italiensk åsikt på engelska.
THE RIGANÒ AFFAIR TROUBLES FLORENCE
For most of us, Fiorentina supporters, the "Three Commandments" are: Mondonico is the coach (The Mister), Di Livio is the Capitain of Fiorentina and Riganò is her forward. But for some people inside the club it´s not the same.
Everybody remembers the long affair with the new contract of Mondonico, considered by someone (Lucchesi?) unable to conduce the team in the Serie A; few days ago another case has been solved, the contract of Angelo Di Livio, who, 38, was no more considered as a player (Lucchesi again?).
All those situations are now well solved but, as every year that I am able to remember in Fiorentina's history, another one is coming out: Will Riganò play in Fiorentina next year?
It is a fact that Riganò is a "Mister X" for the Serie A. He is not so young and he has never played in a sutch a difficult division. This is the reason why Fiorentina bought Portillo and is searching for another forward (we have one of the European champions, Zisis Vryzas...).
Anyway it is true that Riganò has always scored a lot of goals in every series and he is one of the strongest "head kickers" in the Italian league, he is the symbol, with Di Livio, of the renaissance of Florence in the Serie A.
Preziosi, the president of Genoa, offers 3,5 millions of euros for the lily Bomber, it should be a very good business to sell him to catch money to invest in other players.
But, the supporters are thinking, is this the "riconoscenza" (gratitude) of DDV (Diego Della Valle, the president of Fiorentina) towards Christian? Is this the premium for a player who has been able to re-build the "magic power" of the shirt n°9 after the Batigol era (please remember that I am talking about BATISTUTA, probably with Van Basten the best forward ever seen in Italy?).
Above this Portillo is Spanish and in Italian football the only Spanish player with success was Luis Suarez (Inter ´60). No-one has good memories of Amor, Helguera (both), Mendieta or no-Spanish players who spent a lot of their careers in the Spanish La Liga, as Stoichkov, Lopez, Kily Gonzalez, Mijatovic and Rivaldo.
No one knows how it will end; in any case Florence is ready to accept the decisions of the president. After the disaster of summer 2002, Florentines have understood that the players can change, but, the team is still there!
So, Forza Viola!! (I hope with Riganò)
