Wenger
I år kommer det lag som vinner Premier League inte ha mer än 85 poäng tror Arsène Wenger som innan helgens match mot Liverpool filosoferade kring hur Premier Leagues sluttabell möjligtvis kunde se ut: "At the moment the race is still very tight because it looks for me for the first time in six or seven years that the number of points for the winner of this league will be much lower than usual because everybody drops points against everybody. Liverpool and Chelsea have dropped many points at home which means the winner of this league will not get over 80 points."
Det har spekulerats mycket om när Eduardo da Silva’s återkomst till A-laget ska ske. Men efter Kroatens comeback i reservlaget fick han en liten sträckning bakre låret och kommer därför inte riskeras. Arsène Wenger avslöjar nu att Kroaten inte kommer att komma i spel förrän efter Arsenals FA-cup match mot Plymouth den 3 Januari: : "It is still a bit early because he will be out for two weeks and then he has to get his fitness back. In two weeks we already have the Plymouth game and he will not be capable to play in that game."
Nu till gårdagens match:
Arsène Wenger var verkligen inte nöjd med domare Howard Webb’s insats i helgens match. Wenger kommenterar utvisningen: "I think it was the wrong decision. I would love to have sendings off like that at home when we get kicked off the park. If Adebayor has to go off for that then Keane has to come off in the first minute for the foul on Gael Clichy.” Wenger fortsätter att kommentera helgens match: "I believe we dropped two points because we played at home. I believe we gave a soft goal away today.” Efter Emmanuel Adebayors röda kort kommer nu Togolesen missa väldigt viktiga matcher under julen, lägg där till skadan på Fabregas så ser läget väldigt svårt ut för The Gunners. Wenger om den skada Fabregas ådrog sig: "It is a medial knee ligament problem. I don’t know how long he will be out, it is difficult to assess. Of course it is a blow, you don’t want to lose a player like that but we have to cope with it."
Spelarna
Arsenal-spelarna stämmer in i Wengers sång och talar om sitt missnöje med Howard Webb. Den olyckligaste, Emmanuel Adebayor, uttalar sig om situationen som svängde matchen: "I hope when the referee goes home and watches it on the TV, he will see it was a foul, but I didn't deserve a card. It was a mistake from him. He said it was for the leg but if I don't put my body in there I would never score a goal in this League. We have to protect the ball, which is normal, and that's what I tried to do.” Angående Arbeloa hade Adebayor inga fina ord för heller: "The defender Arbeloa threw himself on the floor as if I put a knife in him. Of course I'm annoyed. We are all here to play and if you win or lose you have to do it with 11. I cannot say he cheated but what he did wasn't fair play at all."
Lagkapten Cesc Fabregas som fick utgå i paus efter en koalition med Xabi Alonso var knappast nöjd med matchen heller. Fabregas om sin skada: "I have negative thoughts about the injury. But we will wait for the medical tests on Monday."
Transferrykten
Em-stjärnan Andrei Arshavin lyckades inte fly ifrån Zenit St Petersburg i somras och är nu fast besluten att lämna klubben i januari. "I try and play for Zenit the best I can. But I repeatedly told the president of the club that I didn't want to remain in the side any longer. If they don't let me leave, I'll be listed as a Zenit player, but on paper only." Enligt rykten så ska Arsenal vara intresserade av Ryssen men enbart om priset sänks dramatiskt från de £20 m Zenit begärde efter sommarens EM-turnering.
Det ryktas även om att Roque Santa Cruz ska vilja lämna Blackburn efter att laget haft en väldigt tam inledning på säsongen. Arsenal ska tydligen vara laget Santa Cruz vill gå till vid en eventuell transfer. Inte särskilt troligt då Arsenal har en ganska bred uppsättning anfallare. Den som lever får se…
