Dagens Morientes
Den inte alltför tillförlitliga tidningen The Mirror säger idag att Morientes mycket väl kan tänka sig att gå till Spurs
Morientes som sägs ha varit Hoddles stora mål inför den här säsongen. Det blev som vi vet inget av den affären då, men ryktena om att Hoddle inte har gett upp fortsätter.
Morientes ska enligt the Mirror ha sagt:
"Tottenham are a team with a lot of history and faithful fans who are fighting to get into Europe.
"I'm thankful to their coach for being interested in me. It's very flattering, especially as the praise comes from abroad.
"The Premiership is an attractive tournament with a lot of tradition. It seems like it is becoming more of a force and any professional would like to play for one of its more prestigious teams.
"What I like most from what I see on the television is the power there is on the pitch and the passion in the stands. It's an attractive combination."
Huruvida det betyder att vi får se Morientes i Spurs vita tröja under våren är dock tveksamt.
Hoddle har fått order från ledningen att truppen måste minskas och än så länge så är det bara Clemence som har hittat en ny adress. Han måste antagligen sälja av några spelare till innan ett köp av spanjoren kan bli verklighet.
