I kvällens Arsenal säger Cesc att han tror att han kan spela mot United. Wenger summerar Fulham matchen. Wilshere och Walcott är också med på ett hörn.

Efter matchen mot Fulham

Det var ett Arsenal som fick kämpa för att ta alla tre poäng igår hemma på Emiraten. Mark Hughes hade taktiken klar när han ville att bortalaget skulle lyfta många bollar över Arsenalsbacklinje vilket gjorde att Arsenal fick kavla upp sina snoods för att ta tre poäng.

"It was a good game. Overall I think Fulham played well and we played well. They put us under pressure because Gera and Kamara combined well and their midfield was efficient, they played quite a direct game to expose us with balls behind our defenders. We needed not only quality but sprit and resilience today and we got it. We scored two exceptional goals from Samir that were a combination of touch, intelligence, special talent and calmness. He needed to be patient to finish in both situations and he did very well. I’m happy because he had a game that at the start was only based on coming to the ball and now he has more variation in his game. His game is improving and of course he is more efficient.", säger Wenger.

Wenger passade även på att säga att många ifrågasatte honom när han köpte Nasri när han fick frågan om den unge fransmannen varit Arsenals bäste spelare den här säsongen.

"It is always difficult to compare but what is important when you are a manager is that you want to get the best out of players and I always was a strong believer in him. Many people questioned me when I took him here but he is showing that he has exceptional talent and I think there is more to come from him.Like every player that is good on the ball he was too much attracted by the ball. We wanted him to do more runs off the ball, going in behind [the defence] without the ball because we have many players who can give him the ball.", säger Wenger.

Många väntade nog på att Wenger skulle ge domare Chris Foy en känga efter matchen men Wenger hade inget att klaga på.

"Having seen it again with the referee’s body position he believed Koscielny would go on because he didn’t immediately lie down. You can understand why he let the game go."

Johan Djourou har inte spelat regelbundet den här säsongen men Wenger förklarar att efter schweizaren varit borta så länge så fasas han in i spel. Men när han har spelat så har han spelat bra.

"He is doing very well. He has been out for a year and as you have noticed I have rotated him a little bit. We do not want to lose him and a guy that has been out for a year you cannot play him three games a week. From the start of the season he has gone from strength to strength and today, in the difficult period when we had to defend in the air, he was dominant. He has not only shown dominance but also personality. That’s why I am very happy. He came here as a midfielder and we transformed him into a centre back.", säger Wenger.

Slutligen tror Wenger mot alla pundits att Arsenal kan ta hem årets upplaga av Premier League. Chelsea kan inte vinna och United kan inte vinna borta. Så det lär nog bli jämnt ända in på målsnöret.

"We are good enough to go on that is for sure. Every single team struggles to be consistent and at the moment we are where we are despite losing three game. That means every game is a cup final and if you are not ready for it you will not take three points. We have the spirit and the quality but we faced tough opponents and it will be down to consistency. We are far from winning the championship yet, the only thing I can say is we have the spirit and the desire to fight for it.", säger Wenger.

Spelare på lån i januari

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas som leder skytteligan i reserverna kommer med all säkerhet lånas ut januari. JET har under hösten verkligen visat att han utvecklas och bankar med båda händerna på dörren till A-laget. Dessutom har Wenger ändrat om i filosofin när det gäller liga cupen så att det finns inte så många chanser till spel för de yngre i år. Det har ryktats om Wigan ska vara intresserade av att låna JET. Något som borde passa den långa engelsmannen.

"Players like Jay Emmanuel-Thomas who need to mature to play, who don't get in the team at the moment. If I can find them a club in the Premier League I will let him go to let him have an experience like Jack Wilshere last year.”, säger Wenger.

van Persie kan hålla sig frisk

Enligt Arsene Wenger oroar han sig inte för att Robin van Persie ska skada sig igen.

“No, I never think it is inevitable he will be injured again. I think that maybe he won’t be injured again now for one or two years I hope. He is not injury prone in my opinion, no.”

Vidare ser Wenger inget problem att spela Chamakh tillsammans med van Persie. I de kommande matcherna får vi nog se dem spela tillsammans menar Wenger.

“We can play Chamakh up front and Van Persie behind. What is interesting is that we can play all kinds of formations with the two. I am pleased because Van Persie is getting stronger every day. He had 70 minutes the other night [against Wigan] and I am confident that if we can get him injury-free in the next three weeks he will be back to his best level."

Spelarna

Cesc tror sig vara tillbaka mot United

I matchen mot Braga skadade Cesc Fabregas återigen baksida lår. Nu hoppas och tror Arsenals kapten att han kan vara tillbaka mot United nästa måndag.

"I'm happy to say everything is going according to plan with my rehabilitation. We've tried some new treatments and hopefully they can make a difference. My hamstrings are feeling good, and my body feels good and rested. The Manchester United game is the target, so hopefully we can make it happen.", säger Fabregas.

Det skulle onekligen vara fint att ha Fabregas tillsammans med Nasri och Arshavin mot United. Men man vill ju hellre att han skakar av sig skadan i låret en gång för alla en att han chansar och slår upp den igen.

Wilshere vill vinna nu

Även fast det är Jack Wilhseres första riktiga säsong i A-laget så vill han ta Gunner mot titlar.

"We all realise Arsenal haven't won something for five years. It's not about patience any more. I've only been around the first team three years and that [wait] feels too long. So I can imagine how Fabregas and van Persie feel. We're all desperate. The main thing we want to win is the Premier League.", säger Wilshere.

Wilshere tar till sig vad Wenger säger till honom och menar att det har gått bra för Fabgras som gick sammma bana.

The boss is always telling me what I've done - good or bad. What's good about him is that he's never pleased; if you have a good game he'll still say, 'You can do more'. He said that to Cesc Fabregas, and look at him now.", säger Wilhsere.

"On goals, I want to get to double figures, my target is between 15- 20 and I'm on seven, so I should hopefully get there.I want to try to push on now. I think I need to. I'm 21 but people still forget it's very difficult to play for Arsenal. To be 21 and playing for Arsenal is a very good achievement."

Slutligen vill Walcott att Arsenal ska ta en titel den här säsongen. Det spelare ingen roll vilken bara det blir en titel för Gunners.

"It doesn't matter what cup it is, you want to look back at your career and the amount of trophies you've won. This is our season to bring something back to the fans because they have waited quite a long time. It would be brilliant to be in a final and then, going that step further, actually holding a trophy up."
