SERIE AAAAAAAAAAA (in English)
WE DID IT !!!!!!!!!! SERIE A BELONGS TO US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With a majestic second half Cesena came back and managed to win 1 2 at Latina and reach Serie A.
Things didn't start well for the black and whites as Bruno, Latina's defender scored a nice goal with what seemed a "lucky felträff" onthe 12th minute. The 1 0 victory granted Latina the last available Serie A placement, after Cesena's victory in the first semifinal Cesena needed nothing less than a draw.
But Latina's dream of reaching the double promotion from serie C to serie A seemed to vanish as Defrel scored the 1 1 goal in the early minutes of the second half, after a brilliant incursion by Marilungo on the left flank of the black and blue defense. Latina tried its best to score again and went very near as Jonathan foolishly failed a very easy opportunity. In the end, as Latina inevitably went on the attack with all its men, Marilungo managed to conquer a clear penalty kick that Cascione did not fail. And then it was over. After 46 matches the 1000 Cesena fans who had made the journey to the Lazio town were free to unleash their joy together with the players and the great coach Pierpaolo Bisoli, who reached his third promotion in 4 seasons as Cesena coach, an incredible achievement that not many Italian coaches can be proud of. Together with them all the Cesena fans who had gathered in the town's main square and watched the match on a giant screen could begin the celebrations which went on all night long.
Cesena did it again. They won their eigth promotion from Serie B to Serie A.
We deserved it. During this tournament Cesena has never been outside of the play-off positions and even if this team won't exactly be remembered for a spectacular foootball, it has never failed to deliver good results. Even when things turned sour in the second half of the tournament the team has always managed to lift his head up again and regain positions in the standings and eventually end up WHERE WE BELONG.
Cesena forever!!!
