Kinnear stannar säsongen ut
Idag bekräftade NUFC att JFK blir kvar säsongen ut.
Idag gick Newcastle United Football Club ut med nyheten om att Joe Kinnear stannar säsongen ut. Så här uppges Kinnear själv ha sagt om det hela.
"Ever since I came to Newcastle United I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
"The players have been great to work with and the fans have made me feel at home since day one.
"We have a big challenge ahead of us for the rest of the season but together I'm confident we will make good progress.
"We have some very good players already at this club and hopefully we can further strengthen the squad in January and I will be working very closely with the directors to try to achieve that."
Den hårt ifrågasatte Derek Llambias har också uttalat sig. Så här uppges vår “Managing Director” (i princip ordförande) ha sagt: "Joe has done an excellent job since coming to the Club and everyone is delighted that he has agreed to remain in charge for the rest of the season."
Från den lokala tidningen The Evening Chronicle finns det en längre intervju med Joe där han uppges ha sagt följande:
“I am over the moon about it - Mike has asked me to stay as manager until the end of the season, and I am absolutely delighted.
“We had a good talk and he made it clear that he is happy for me to keep going and that there would be money for the three or four new players we believe we need in the transfer market in January.
“On this score I can tell our fans that we have three or four irons in the fire, and it is just as case of wait and see. And obviously there are several players’ contracts still to sort out.
“After speaking to Mike, I went in to see our managing director Derek Llambias and our football secretary Lee Charnley and we are all keen to get things up and running.
“Funnily enough, while I was talking to our directors yesterday all my family were ringing me from London and saying that all the talk down there was that I was going to be the next manager of Charlton.
“No-one was shocked more than me (to get the job in the first place) but I have loved every minute of being here. The fans are great and this is a great football club.
“Obviously I cannot make any promises, but wouldn’t it be fantastic if we can climb up the table and also have a good FA Cup run? Certainly I am looking forward to the FA Cup third round draw on Sunday.”
