Mourinho avfärdar Cole-rykte
José Mourinho reagerade med ilska på Daily Express insinuationer i dag om att Joe Cole vill bort. Och så talade Mourinho förstås också om morgondagens match.
Det var vid fredagens presskonferense som Chelseas manger kommenterade ryktet från Daily Express och mycket annat. Här följer oöversatta citat från presskonferensen.
Om att Joe Cole vill lämna klubben:
"For me, it's rubbish journalism because, when you do a back page with an interview from nobody, I don't understand that. Who is the guy in the interview? A source of a friend of a friend of a friend. I think it's unbelievable. I have never seen this before in my life. A friend or source close to the friend of a player makes the back page - it's amazing. I cannot speak to the player about this, it's impossible. Cole was always very open to me. He was in my office last season 10 times, knocking on my door saying 'please can I speak with you, please why am I not playing, what can I do to improve?' He is always so open to me that I cannot comment. I feel it's ridiculous."
Om Chelseas spel_
“I have to play the way the opponents don’t want me to play. If I don’t do that I am stupid. For example, when Arsenal complained about Chelsea playing direct, I am stupid if I don’t do it against them. Anderlecht is not complaining but they could complain about Chelsea not giving them space behind our defence. If I gave them space, the result wouldn’t be 1-0. One of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe didn’t score one goal against us and if I give them space behind us, they would.Our style is the winning style and sometimes the winning style is to play very good quality attacking football like we did a few times this season. “Bent is a good player. He is a player with Premiership level. He is quick, sharp and intelligent. He moves well and scores goals. I don’t see a team like Chelsea, Man United or Arsenal signing a player from a lower division and throwing him directly into Champions League competition but in this kind of medium level team, I think it is intelligent if you do it. So I think it is a good signing. I don’t think he will score goals every weekend. I don’t think he will finish with 40 goals. But if he finishes with 15 goals for them then it is fantastic. Already Charlton have 12 points and 9 away from home. For a team with their ambitions, this is fantastic.”
