“ON March 9 we published an article entitled ‘Sheva’ – ‘Yes, its true, I've complained about Chelsea manager’ ‘Jose never spoke to me and played me out of position – ‘No secret Roman wanted me more than Mourinho’.
We claimed that Andriy Shevchenko had ‘lifted the lid on his stormy career at Chelsea’ and that he had given an interview to a German TV website www.sport.ard.de in which he had complained about his manager Jose Mourinho and revealed that he had had played for better coaches and would have been happy to have left Chelsea on loan last January.
Having investigated the matter further we accept that these allegations are untrue and that Andriy Shevchenko did not give this interview to the German website or make any of the statements falsely attributed to him. We apologise to Andriy for any distress and embarrassment this article has caused him.”
