LEEDS UNITED UPPKÖPTA!
Idag blev det äntligen klart att vår älskade klubb har blivit uppköpta. Konkurs hotet är nu ett minne blott.
Det blev till slut den förre detta Chelsea ordföranden Ken Bates som fick äran att ta över Leeds i en deal som gör att klubben inte behöver oroa sig för konkurs hot. Ken Bates har också sagt att Thorp Arch och Elland Road kommer köpas tillbaka inom den närmsta tiden.
Ken Bates säger, 'I am delighted to be stepping up to the mantel at such a fantastic club. I recognise that Leeds United is a great club that has fallen on hard times. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us to get the club back to where it belongs in the Premiership and with the helps the fans, who have stuck by the club through thick and thin, we are going to do everything in our power to ensure that happens.
'Our first task will be to put short, medium and long term plans in place to secure the financial future of the club and these will include buying back, in due course, Elland Road and Thorp Arch. We will also be looking at ways in which the fans can control the football pitch itself. Fans could then ensure that no would be property developer will be able to end the playing of football at Elland Road.
'I wish to pay tribute to the outgoing board. They have done a magnificent job at a time with nobody else would touch Leeds United. It gives me great confidence to know that the outgoing board will remain in close contact and provide all the help needed to ensure a smooth transition in the months ahead.
'I also wish to pay tribute to Trevor Birch for his contributions.'
Leeds kan nu äntligen börja koncentrera sig på fotbollen igen, och jag kan lova en sak: Spelarna måste ha funderat på dessa 10 poäng som hade förstört alla förhoppningar om att hamna på kvalplats, och när det hotet nu är borta börjar en kamp om att klättra i tabellen och det tror jag inte är omöjligt. Måste säga att det känns fantastiskt att inte behöva vara orolig varje gång man går in på internet för att behöva läsa massa negativa saker om vår älskade klubb. Idag började en ny era i Leeds, och vi kommer förhoppningsvis vara med och bidra till att Leeds återigen blir ett topplag i The Premiership. Alla fans över hela världen som köpt sovenirer, sett matcher på plats m.m m.m ska veta att utan deras hjälp hade Leeds inte funnits idag. Vi räddade oss själva och det är nåt vi ska vara oerhört stolta över.
