CL: Chelsea betygsatt
Liverpools Jamie Carragher var inte oväntat matchens lirare enligt de engelska tidningarna. Hur såg de då på Chelseaspelarnas insats?
Liverpools elva fick för sin defensivt starka prestation på Stamford Bridge överlag de något högre betygen. Men det fanns också Chelseaspelare som prisades, inte minst Petr Cech och John Terry.
Nedan följer betyg och kommentarer på Chelseas spelare från BBC (B) och The Guardian (G). Noterbart är att att inhopparna Arjen Robben och Mateja Kezman ej finns med, men ingen av dem gjorde ändå något starkare intryck.
Petr Cech
B: 7, Did not have too much to do but kept his concentration to save well from efforts by Riise and Baros.
G: 8, Wonderful save from Baros' header frustrated the visitors as they made their first real opportunity.

Glen Johnson
B: 6, Allowed Riise too much room early in the game but the young defender got better as the game progressed.
G: 5, Found himself occasionally shown up by Riise and struggled to sprint up-field in support of his colleagues.
Ricardo Carvalho
B: 6, Had a couple of nervous moments but otherwise he was largely untested by the Liverpool attackline.
G: 5, Tidied up effectively, though was flummoxed by Garcia's gliding run and beaten by Baros in the air for Cech to save.
John Terry
B: 8, Twice he went close to capping a flawless defensive display with chances to score the game's only goal.
G: 7, Reassuring presence in defence as ever. Might have converted just before the break but miskicked from edge of the area.
William Gallas
B: 6, Again did a fine job as a makeshift full-back. Got forward well to create a chance for Lampard.
G: 6, Uncomfortable switching to right foot, but marauded forward when he could. Cross almost eked out a goal for Lampard.

Tiago
B: 6, Handed a starting role in the absence of the injured Damien Duff and responded with a decent all-round effort.
G: 5, Ventured forward with menace but fluffed his chances to make a real impact in front of goal and was replaced by Robben.
Claude Makelele
B: 6, Provided the usual protection to the Blues' defence and rarely failed to pick out a Chelsea team-mate.
G: 5, Uncharacteristically slapdash with his early passing, though still busy as the defensive shield.
Frank Lampard
B: 6, He missed an absolute sitter in the first half and was also disappointing with his free-kicks but ran his socks off.
G: 8, Should have converted Cole's knock-down, but his charges from deep spread alarm and his passes prompted panic.

Joe Cole
B: 6, Had a very effective opening 45 minutes and looked Chelsea's best chance of an opening but Traore got the better of him after the break.
G: 7, Terrorised Traoré twisting and turning down right and offered nuisance value in the area. Booked for foul on Traoré.
Didier Drogba
B: 5, Missed two glorious chances to put Chelsea ahead. Too often he follows a good show of strength with a poor finish or choosing the wrong option. A disappointing display.
G: 6, Rarely gleaned space from Carragher, though beat Hyypia in the air to thump first-half header over the bar.
Eidur Gudjohnsen
B: 6, Caused Liverpool problems in the first half running from deep and picking out opponents with some precise passing but faded.
G: 6, Was at his best when turning to run from deep, even spreading play expertly to Cole on the right.
