Swanseas kapten förlänger för andra gången i sommar
Garry Monk hade tidigare ett "självaktiverings"-kontrakt som automatiskt förlängdes med ett år då han varit med i minst ett antal matcher. Den forne Southamptonspelaren, som nu varit i Swansea i fyra år, förlänger som väntat med ett ordentligt tvårskontrakt. Detta är han verkligen värd. Monk kommenterar:
"Winning promotion was a bonus but even if we didn't go up I would've still signed as I enjoy it here, I don't want to be anywhere else. I didn't even speak to any other clubs, this club is going places. The club showed a lot of faith in me when I was out for a season through injury the season before last. And I was glad I could repay the manager, chairman and the fans last season. It was a fantastic campaign last year but I wouldn't have signed a new deal if I thought we couldn't enjoy more success next season as the Championship should hold no fears for us. The lads will take a winning mentality into the Championship next season and I'm confident the squad is good enough to be successful."
