Atlético-redaktionen intervjuar en "Portista"

Eftersom undertecknad inte hade överdrivet mycket tid att skriva en införrapport värdig våra läsare på Atléticos SvenskaFans-sida, kontaktade redaktionen Simon De Souza, en "portista" som liksom många andra portugiser bor i Kanada. Han sköter det engelsktalande Twitter-kontot @FCPortoWorld där han kommer med dagliga uppdateringar om klubben i hans hjärta. Nedan får ni ett litet smakprov på vad som väntar när de röd-vitrandiga springer ut på Estádio do Dragão under tisdagskvällen. En plats som Porto har 29 raka matcher utan förlust på i liga respektive Europa-spel och hela 75 matcher (!) utan förlust i ligaspelet.

Det skall även sägas att Atlético alltjämt inte har vunnit mot Porto under de fyra mötena mellan klubbarna.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you become a Porto-fan?

Kind of fell into it on my own, my family actually is big on Hockey & Lacrosse, not football but having Portuguese friends (I live in Canada) you eventually discover it.
 

By looking at the league table - you'll notice it's been a great season but Porto have had issues closing out matches in the second half. They seem to take their foot off the gas and not win by as much as they could. 
 

It's not as conventional as seasons past; but still a 4-3-3 formation. Paulo Fonseca has been opting to use a 2+1 midfield and holding back Steven Defour to play alongside Fernando. Lucho Gonzalez is tasked with the playmaking. As in any 4-3-3, wingbacks Danilo and Alex Sandro have freedom to push up the flank in support of the wingers. Paulo Fonsea of course expects Porto to play a possession heavy match with pressure always being applied.
 

Licá, definitely. I didn't even think he was going to make the final roster, but his work ethic is second to none and you can't ignore it. He doesn't have the finest dribbling but he often finds himself in the right place at the right time.
 

As I said above, his midfield philosophy is different than Vitor Pereira. While it's a 2+1 midfield, it's still very ttacking oriented.
 

Scouting network. Porto's scouting network is enormous. They have scouts all over the world, but they focus on the hotbed that is South America. 

Porto is a great stepping stone into other top European teams and leagues.
 

What could be said that already hasn't been? He changed the club. He turned Porto into European Champions. His business model is second to none and, frankly, he's one of the smartest directors in Europe.
 

This answer used to be easy, winning Champions League in 2004. But Kelvin's 92' winner in the penultimate round last season to climb back into 1st place was incredible. I still watch the video to this day.
 

I have only been following their scorelines, but that says enough. They on on fire right now. At a neutral venue, I think they could take Barça to the edge.
 

Porto is dominant at home. 2-1 to the Dragões.
