Nye Gomez släkt med Orlandi! Spelar- och tränarkommentarer
Swanseas nye "Ferrie Bodde", den centrale spelfördelaren Jordi Gomez, har just lånats in och ska stanna under ett år. Han har just skrivit ett treårskontakt med Espanyol. Lånet sägs kosta Swansea £200K, så vi får hoppas att han presterar!
En stor anledning till varför han valde Swansea är hans släktskap med wingern Andrea Orlandi som värvades förra säsongen:
"I have always had the idea of going into British game, it was something I really wanted to do. It was a key factor with Andrea being my brother-in-law. Since he signed I have followed the club and got attached then."
Manager Martinez är mycket nöjd med värvningen: även den andra som rör Gorka Pintado. Pintado gjorde 18 mål för sitt Granada (Segunda B: 4 gruppen) och kostar Swansea £200K. Det rör sig om ett långtidskontrakt på minst två år. Martinez säger:
"I can assure you that we've captured two quality signings, they've got Championship quality written all over them. We've been watching the two players for the last two seasons and I'm absolutely delighted we've managed to persuade them to commit to Swansea City. Martinez om Pintado:
He is a very charismatic player, a talisman and a hero out there. He has goals in his blood, a real finisher; tactically very aware, aggressive and as strong as a bull. Now he is determined to become fully attached to Swansea City and win the hearts of the fans over here."
Martinez om Gomez:
He's got great control, technical ability and never gives the ball away. Having scored 10 goals from midfield last season, he's also a clinical finisher around the box."
Och slutligen Pintado om övergången:
"It was very difficult to leave Granada because of my strong relationship with the fans there but this is a great opportunity for me. It was a unique opportunity and challenge at this stage of my career. I like the British game and I think my strength will help me settle into it. I could not let this opportunity go."
