Cheltenham-rapport/bilder från Dave
Bättre sent än aldrig brukar man säga. Här kommer en liten rapport och några bilder från Dave som var på plats när Stoke City äntligen tog sig vidare i ligacupen.
How do lads,
After all the excitement against Aston Villa I decided to travel down to watch the Cheltenham v Stoke League cup match.
The atmosphere could not of been so different from the Villa game. It was so relaxed that it had the feel of a pre-season friendly. After all the positive media coverage from the weekend, I must admit that I had a proud feeling that Stoke were indeed a premiership team. A young Cheltenham fan ran up to us and said "You're not as good as Man United". The kid obviously didn't understand how good it felt to be associated with Man United after 23 years.
As you know, Stoke fielded players who haven't featured in the first team much so far. This tactic in the past has led to our downfall but there was no danger of that happening against Cheltenham. In fact I cant remember being so relaxed.
Towards the end of the second half, Stoke supporters turned their attention towards the teams substitutes & players who were warming down. The fans tried in vain to get Dickinson to "Give us a song".
However, Wilkinson duly obliged with a rendition of "Lets go F**king mental, Lets go F**king mental".............footballers eh?
