Dave rapporterar sina intryck från söndagens match och levererar några bilder.
How do lads,
Well it was an exciting but ultimately disappointing afternoon for Stoke.
The referee played his part of adding to the entertainment by making a complete arse of the big decisions that he had to make. I thought that Stoke deserved a point at least.
To make room for a couple of the new signings aswell as Amdy Fayes suspension, Pulis shuffled the team around. I was a little disappointed that Ab.Faye moved from centre back to midfield as he had a great game there v Villa..
Sorensen still looks at little shaky to me. Was he still suffering the effects of his bad back? Griffin had a much improved game.
Higginbotham did OK at left back. He did let Cahill go for their 3rd goal though and his best position is at centre back.
Sonko & Cort looked a little like it was the first game that they played together but again did OK.
Ab. Faye & Olly worked tirelessly in midfield but are both quite similar players. Ollys marking for their second goal was shocking.
Lawrence had a poor game.
Delaps throw ins again caused problems. Would he get a regular game if he didn't take the throw ins?
Kitson is being asked to play too deep.
Fuller worked hard to open up the Everton defence. The 'disallowed' goal was a well taken effort.
Tonge looked pretty asssured when he came on.
Whelan doesn't seem to be in the mind of Tony Pulis at all at present.
Stoke conceded possession at times to Everton but with a strong defensive midfield and 3 centre halves in the back 4 we rarely looked like conceding a goal from open play.
What I cant understand though is that 6 out of the 10 premiership goals we have conceded so far have been from set pieces. Sort it out Stoke.
Let hope Liverpool play like they often do after a Champions league match. (shite)
Whats the betting Pulis will play 5 at the back next week?
