Pete, Wils, Charlotte & my good self made the trip up to Anfield. Just prior to leaving Wils showed me his new purchase which was a sign that used to be on display outside the old Victoria ground. Wils bought it off a guy on e-bay for £500.
We arrived in Liverpool in good time. Because Charlotte had studied at Liverpool university she was able to give us a quick tour around the city centre. I must say that this mainly involved public houses....students eh? We eventually ended up having a pint in the famous Cavern. While in there I took a photo of this foreign women wearing a t-shirt that caught my eye. I asked her if I could take a photo of her chest. Her husband didn't seem to mind.
After another photo opportunity this time with Pete, Charlotte and some guy called John Lennon we headed off to Anfield.
Unfortunately, there was no repeat of last season heroics. The 4-0 scoreline was a little harsh on Stoke as we actually had more of the ball than last seasons match. Having said that Liverpool were by far the better team. Pulis went for the same plan as last season which was to get bodies behind the ball. Unfortunately, the early goal put paid to that and there was no plan B.
Stoke started the second half brightly but didn't manage to score. Soon after, Beattie, who had had a good game all alone up front was replaced by Fuller and that was that for Stoke as an attacking force.
Good effort once again from the Stoke support despite the result with good numbers and noise.
Oh yeh, Pete noticed a couple of Swedish stokies at the match aswell.
