Andra artikeln i LazioStyle 1900

I den andra utgåvan av Lazios officiella magasin, LazioStyle 1900, så skriver undertecknad en krönika om hur livet som laziale utanför Italien kan se ut...

Lazio, una fede senza frontiere

Slowly the snow falls against the ground and when I open my window the coldness of the Swedish winter is felt in every bone of my body.
1800 kilometers away, in Rome, it is warmer.
1800 kilometers away, at Stadio Olimpico, the sound of thousands of laziali singing fills the sky.
1800 kilometers away, Lazio enters the field and lo stadio explodes!

The laziali I have met in Rome during my trips to the city are often amazed over the fact that a man can be a laziale and be Swedish. One of these laziali is Andrea M.
I first meet him on a beautiful Sunday morning in October 2008 at Via Farini as we entered the bus that would take us to Bologna. It was an exciting trip for me as it was my first away game and I must admit I was a bit nervous before departure. After all, I didn’t know how these laziali, the beating heart of Lazio, would react on the fact that a foreigner would be joining them.
Would they accept me as a member of the group?
First, I was met with curiosity and questions.  How could I with a different culture, look and nationality share the same ideals, passion and love as they felt for la Lazio? As I answered the questions asked by the laziali on the bus they were amazed that a foreigner could have so much knowledge and be so passionate about Lazio. When I explained to them that I wasn’t alone, that we had created a whole Lazioforum with hundreds of members with the same knowledge and passion as I have, they almost lost their faces.
During the way to Bologna I got the privilege to sit next to Andrea, a normal Roma citizen with an enormous passion for Lazio. We became good friends and when la  Lazio played against Elfsborg in Borås, we met again and talked about that day in Bologna. My friendship with Andrea and the friendships created between our members, from Indonesia to USA, at Lazioland.com is the best proof of true Lazialitá.
So how can men like me and Andrea with different cultures, looks and nationalities share the same ideals, passion and love for a team located in one particular city?
The answer is simple but not easy to understand for someone who isn’t a laziale: La Lazio é una fede senza frontiere.

However, the life of a laziale living outside Rome and Italy is not easy.     Let me give you all a couple of examples: A laziale living in Rome only has to walk out the door and buy Corrierre dello Sport with whole pages dedicated to la Lazio. A laziale living in a foreign country either must learn Italian or spend hours searching the entire web to find the latest news on English regarding Lazio.
A laziale in Rome can meet his friends at the local trattoria for a plate of pasta before the game and then go together to the stadium. A laziale in a foreign country has to log in to our forum or call his laziali friends as we live to far away from each other to watch it together.
And most importantly, a laziale in Rome can actually go to the stadium, watch and scream trough out the game. A laziale in a foreign country instead has to watch the game on the internet with bad picture quality, bad sound and listen to a commentator talking in Chinese.

But despite all these problems, we will always be there for the team.
We will be suffering and celebrating like the fans on the stadium, delivering messages to the players, radioshows and magazines and be a part of the passion.
We will be travelling to Rome together and when we are at the stadium we will wave our flag and sing until we have lost our voices.
We are always going to support Lazio's coulours in any way we can and we will do it in front of our computers!
Perche la Lazio é una fede senza frontiere!
