Avery Johnson ny Nets-tränare
New Jersey Nets har anställt Avery Johnson som ny tränare. 45-åringen har tidigare tränarerfarenhet från Dallas där han coachade Mavericks mellan 2004 och 2008.
- We are very pleased to welcome Avery as the new head coach of the Nets. He has enjoyed success in this league as both a player and head coach, and we feel that he possesses all of the characteristics, including knowledge, passion and leadership, that are necessary for us to be a championship contender in the years to come, säger New Jerseys president Rod Thorn.
Johnson, som skrivit på ett treårskontrakt, står inför utmaningen att omvandla förra säsongens sämsta lag i NBA till ett vinnande gäng.
- I am really excited to be the head coach of the New Jersey Nets, it’s an honor. The future of the team is bright and I am excited to be a part of that future. We want to play tough, hard-nosed defense and we are going to move the ball on offense. It’s all going to begin with training camp where we will start building a foundation for the future, förklarar Johnson.
