Efter mediacirkusen som drabbat Alpay och Villa efter matchen mellan England och Turkiet, har båda parterna enats om att hans kontrakt sägs upp och att han går på fri transfer.

Alpay Leaves By Mutual Consent Following a meeting between the Executive Directors and Turkish International, Alpay Ozalan, Aston Villa announce that the player's contract has been terminated by mutual consent with immediate effect.
Chairman Doug Ellis said: "In light of recent events, it would have been difficult for Alpay to represent Aston Villa again in the future and the player himself was aware that life in England had become increasingly difficult for him and his family.
"Therefore, both parties agreed that the best course of action was for immediate termination of his contract which was due to expire in June, 2004."
