Meet Mark Wilson (Bromsgrove Stokie) Part 2
Del 2
Här kommer fler frågor/svar från Mark Wilson.
13. You have been to every game this year, how much are the tickets to the away games? Do they vary much?
Yes, up to now I’ve been to all the away league games too, prices vaying from £20 at Wigan to those robbing Chelsea £47, so the average is about £30. Would be nice to win one as well.
14. You wear your Stoke top to the games (even away) have you experienced any problems with the locals, has the fighting generally disappeared?
Yes I wear my Stoke shirt to all games and no I haven’t seen or experienced any trouble, although always seeing the games with Pete and his 2 daughters might have something to do with it.
15. Stokes atmosphere at the Britannia is well known, how is it at other grounds?
Atmosphere wise I been surprised how quiet other grounds have been. So far I would say Spurs have been the loudest and definitely Man Utd. have been the quietest.
16. I suppose we must ask, what happened at Hartlepool, were Stoke interested? What was their ground like? How disappointed were Stoke fans that day?
Hartlepool was the only game I couldn’t get to and as things went I think I got off lightly. What I would say is that it is possibly the best thing that to have happened to us. I just feel sorry for the fans that made the long journey up there.
17. Pulis, Fuller and Kitson have had their critics for some reason or other, what are your opinions?
I think any criticism of the manager is unbelievable, in 2 spells he has saved us from certain relegation in 2003 and then taken us back to the top flight for the first time in 30 years.
18. Any criticism for Fuller about his incident with Griffin is however fair. But to consider selling him in my opinion is crazy as he is the one player who can create or score a goal out of nothing.
As for Kitson, he just doesn’t fit in our team, I feel he also hasn’t been given a fair run in the side but when called upon he has given 100%.
19. Which player(s) are leading in player of the year league in your opinion?
Easy….Abdoulaye Faye by a mile, at 2,25 million the bargain of the season. If he’s not worth £10 million I’ll go and watch Port Vale.
20. A lot of talk at the moment is that the bigger clubs get favourable decisions from referees. Do you think it is true?
I try not to blame referees too much but I would say that some our recent sendings off wouldn’t have been “reds” for the big boys.
21. A couple of years ago, you went to a reunion for the league cup winning side of 1972. Can you tell us about it and your unusual meeting with your hero?
Yes, the year before last on March 9th Jo and me went to the 35th reunion of the 1972 League Cup side. After we were shown our table I was dying for the toilet, as I walked in, to my amazement Gordon Banks, my boyhood hero was in there. I just froze, my all time hero and me having a pee together. I couldn’t speak.
22. You have mentioned to me that you maybe will move to the Stoke area, I think you could do a great job somehow working for the club. Have you considered this?
Yes Jo and me are thinking of moving up to Stoke when the kids have flown the nest as to speak. As for working for Stoke……..who knows!?
