Därför stängdes butiken på New Street

Han har som många andra stått i kön för en paj på Holte End. Nu svarar han vad han tyckte om servicen. Den service vi alla skrattar åt. Här kommer ett par snabba svar från Luke Organ som är chef för klubbens marknadsavdelning.

Type where do you come from, what have you done before you got into the football?
Luke: I studied sport management at university before joining a private equity company called Pacific Investments Plc. I became global operations manager of one of their advertising subsidiaries before being re-posted to China where I became Vice President for their sports agency. I then joined the Women’s Tennis Association as Director of Sales & Marketing responsible for the whole APAC region. I then relocated back to the UK where I was offered a job for Renault Lotus F1 Team. After this I joined Wasps Rugby as Group Commercial Director and was part of the management team that transformed their revenues and secured their own stadium.
 
Have you played football, and in what club and series? 
Luke: I haven’t played professional football – only school football, at which point I quickly realized I wouldn’t make it to even semi-pro!
 
The store on New Street is closed for a year ago? Is´t any chanes the will open it again?
Luke: Unfortunately this store will not re-open in the current format. The rental cost of the store means that is looses money for the business.

The new members system are constantly delayed. So why no membercards before the system is in full operation?
The member cards interlink with our rewards system. We have had to totally rebuild the solution and cannot do certain elements before the correct elements of the system are up and running. Memberships are now live.
 
 Last year ceo Keith Wyness meet us from Sweden. If you have time can you meet us as well? What do you think of the Swedish supporters club?
 Happy to meet when you are next here of course! From what I know, you are a passionate supporters club and regularly make trips to Villa Park. We hope to see more of you!
 
Do you have a beer and pie in half-time like many others? What do you think about the service before and in halftime?
Luke: I have recently been to a game in the Holte End (the game against Nottingham Forest). The service needs to drastically improve and it will have a renewed focus from the club.
 
What do you say about a matchshirt with all the pressure costs almost £ 75? Is't too expensive for a family with 3 kids and seasoncard? Can you explain the price 75£ for a full printer matchshirt? 
Luke: The shirts are priced in line with market and other clubs and whilst there may be some variance which can be put down to brand partner between the clubs there is largely consistent pricing. The shirts are priced against each geography and Fanatics studies the market to a great extent to understand local retail habits and prices.
My personal opinion is that replica kit is expensive and I am sure every club like us is sensitive to rising costs of kit.
 
Do you look at other clubs' souvenirs and how they sell?
Luke: Yes Fanatics operate the club shops of Manchester Utd, Chelsea, FC Barelona etc

Who decides which souvenirs the club will sell? If I have suggestions, who should I submit these to?
Luke: Fanatics decide ultimately. As it is a new relationship you should see more and more product come into store and online. All enquiries can be directed tocustomer.services@shop.avfc.co.uk
 
Would you like to see a match from Holte End? Do you think many would recognize you then?
Luke: I have already attended a match from the Holte End this season!
 
How does the club work to get more sold out at Villa Park?
Luke: We have a number of marketing initiatives in place and we are working hard to achieve greater attendances. Performance will always help but we need to be creating noise and cut through in our local market place to drive attendance.
 
I think the new matchshirt  looks like a pajamas with the little lions in shadow. Are you happy with the shirt?
Luke: Yes – year on year the shirt has sold more. Shirt designs are always subjective and we cannot please 40,000 people all the time with the design!
